Consumer:

The release of fentanyl from the transdermal system may be temperature-dependent. According to the manufacturer, a body temperature of 40 C (102 F) may theoretically increase serum fentanyl concentrations by approximately one-third due to increased drug release and skin permeability. Therapy with fentanyl transdermal systems should be administered cautiously and possibly at reduced dosages in patients with a high fever.
