Consumer:Chewable products frequently may contain aspartame, which is metabolized in the gastrointestinal tract to phenylalanine. The aspartame/phenylalanine content should be considered when this and similar products are used in patients who must restrict their intake of phenylalanine (i.e. phenylketonurics).
