Result of checking the interaction of drug Sotalol Intravenous and disease Hemodialysis for safety when used together.
When checking interaction based on authoritative sources Drugs.com, Rxlist.com, Webmd.com, Medscape.com there are contraindications or side effects that may cause harm or increase the negative effect from drug use in presence of concomitant diseases.
Consumer:Therapy with sotalol should be administered cautiously in patients with renal failure undergoing hemodialysis. The half-life of sotalol is prolonged (up to 69 hours) in anuric patients. Although sotalol is partially removed by hemodialysis, a rebound in drug concentration often occurs after dialysis is complete. Sotalol should preferably be administered after dialysis and after hemodynamic stability has been established. Heart rate and ECG, particularly the QTc interval, must be closely monitored.
