Consumer:Propranolol plasma clearance was reduced in patients with chronic renal failure. Chronic renal failure has been associated with a decrease in drug metabolism via downregulation of hepatic cytochrome P450 activity resulting in a lower "first-pass" clearance; therefore, therapy with propranolol should be administered cautiously in patients with impaired renal function. Propranolol is not significantly dialyzable.
