Consumer:The use of carbonic anhydrase inhibitors is contraindicated in patients with hypokalemia . Carbonic anhydrase inhibitors may cause increased potassium excretion. Extreme caution should be exercised if a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor is administered and monitoring electrolyte levels is recommended.
