Consumer:The use of succinylcholine is contraindicated in patients after the acute phase of injury following major burns. These patients are more likely to develop significant hyperkalemia which may lead to cardiac arrest. The risk of hyperkalemia typically peaks at about 7 to 10 days after injury.
