Consumer:The use of regadenoson has been associated with fatal and nonfatal myocardial infarction, ventricular arrhythmias, and cardiac arrest. Therapy with regadenoson should be avoided in patients with symptoms or signs of acute myocardial ischemia, such as unstable angina or cardiovascular instability as these patients may be at greater risk of serious cardiovascular reactions. Appropriate monitoring and equipment for resuscitation should be available before administering regadenoson. If serious reactions to regadenoson occur, consider the use of aminophylline, an adenosine antagonist, to shorten the duration of increased coronary blood flow induced by regadenoson administration.
