Consumer:Intravitreal administration, including those with aflibercept, pegaptanib, and ranibizumab is contraindicated in patients with active intraocular inflammation or ocular/periocular infections, since endophthalmitis can occur following the use of these injections. Patients should be advised to seek immediate medical attention from an ophthalmologist if the eye becomes red, photosensitive or painful, or if there is a change in vision in the days following the injection.
